Show Me What You're Working With

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Just to give you an idea, these are the instruments I'll be using:

Yamaha Acoustic Guitar

Epiphone Les Paul Standard aka Black Beauty aka Jenny

Line 6 Spider III 15 Watt Amp
*What's great about this amp is that I can hook it up to my computer or an mp3 player and I can play along with songs

My Playlist

I forgot to mention, I have a playlist on the bottom of the page with a whole bunch of songs with guitar accompaniment that inspire me to play. Some have crazy solos. Others have catchy melodies and/or rythm sections. Someday I'm going to learn each and every one of them. There's a bunch of variety. They range from country to rock, from easy to hard.

I hope you enjoy it and you can always pause it if you want to watch a video. Just scroll down and click on the pause button.

What I'm Going To Be Posting

I'm going to try to add as many videos of me playing the different songs I've learned so far. I'll also add songs that I'm working on to see the different levels of progression I've made. A few of these songs and songs I've learned are:

Hey There Delilah (easy version) - Plain White T's
Stand By Me - Ben E. King
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - U2
Star Spangled Banner (electric version)
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton
Dust in the Wind - Kansas
After Tonight - Justin Nozuka
Save Him - Justin Nozuka

I'm also going to add different techniques and musical theories about the guitar. Things like scales, how to construct scales, chords, flats, sharps, hammer ons, pull offs, slides, vibratos, keys... and so on.

Hopefully anyone who reads this blog can learn a bit about playing the guitar and maybe I can learn a bit from what I post and from anyone else who comments.

Thanks in advance
